The packaging industry in Vietnam is projected to experience an average annual growth rate of 15–20% in the coming years, positioning it among the fastest-growing sectors in the country. This information was shared by experts during the introduction of the 17th International Processing and Packaging Exhibition and Conference for Vietnam (ProPak Vietnam 2024) held in Ho Chi Minh City on February 29, 2024.

Currently, Vietnam hosts over 900 packaging enterprises, with approximately 70% located in the southern regions, primarily in Ho Chi Minh City, Bình Dương, and Đồng Nai provinces. The demand for carton packaging is increasing, driven by the growth of e-commerce. It is anticipated that more than half of Vietnam’s 96 million population will engage in online shopping by 2025. In the digital age, packaging serves as a crucial touchpoint for interaction between brands and consumers. The rapid expansion of the retail market, cosmetics industry, and electronics exports further contributes to the rising demand for carton packaging.

The paper packaging market in Vietnam is estimated to reach USD 2.6 billion in 2024 and USD 4.14 billion by 2029.

Recyclable packaging has become increasingly significant in the food and beverage sector, as Vietnamese consumers are more health-conscious and willing to invest in products that meet high-quality and safety standards.
